Football Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Defensive Battle

During a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Broncos clinched a close victory over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz provided the game-winning go-ahead field goal to seal the hard-fought win.

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short field goal with approximately five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to drive for a possible winning score. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion instead of calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long kick.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten passing yards, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach stated following the contest.
